| New Jersey – It was an evening of food, music and dance last night (Sat., March 26) to some 185 ANCOP supporters and CFC members who attended the launching of New Jersey’s 2011 ANCOP Global Walk for the Poor held at the Grand Chalet in Wayne, NJ.
Popular Filipina singer Carina Afable, who flew in from the West Coast, to be concert soloist during the launching, brought the ballroom down with her non-stop dance songs for 90 minutes. The singer was accompanied by the Alex Lagman band.
Before the concert, an ANCOP Shelter video was shown, followed by brief talks from Elmer Pacia and Roger Santos, ANCOP U.S.A. program directors for Community Development Program and Child Sponsorship Program, respectively.
According to Elizabeth Macaraeg, NJ coordinator, “The night’s 50/50 raffle was able to raise money to sponsor a child.”
Emcee for the evening was Manny Caballero.
